Psychotron - Daily Diary 35
Calories: 2,208
Rock Band drumming: 60 minutes
Walking: 50 minutes
A nice combo of exercise, the Rock Band drumming was a fun activity, and the walking was focused and deliberate. I like these days because it feels like I sort of make up for days in which I get little or no exercise...
5/20/11
Calories: 2,200
No activities
...like this day. Apparently I have trouble getting myself to be active on Fridays. Back to back weeks I didn't do any sort of activity on Friday (I mean, besides walking between my car and Buffalo Wild Wings). There is something to be said, though, for my decision to eat dinner at home for 650 calories, rather than scarfing down 1,000+ calories of wings...which I really, really wanted to do.
5/21/11
Calories: 2,445
Basketball: 120 minutes
The good part: I played two hours of basketball, worked up a nice sweat, got the muscles going.
The bad part: I jammed the holy hell out of my finger, which has stifled my non-walking activity since then.
5/22/11
Calories: 2,780
Walking: 15 minutes
As I said, my finger was pretty roughed up, so rather than doing any Rock Band drumming, I just went for a short walk around my neighborhood. I had thought it was longer than 15 minutes, but the clock doesn't lie.
I've also noticed that I eat/drink when I get bored, and it seems like Sundays tend to be my most boring days. So, it's about time for me to find an activity for Sundays...and other days.
5/23/11
Calories: 2,690
Walking: 40 minutes
The full caloric effect of getting drunk isn't felt until the next day, when I make foolish decisions to try to get my head back on straight. A breakfast sandwich, three servings of rice, and a variety of snacks put me into the red on my calorie goals. Blah.
Looking Forward
As I said, I think I need some activities, some distractions to keep my mind focused. Exercise is a good thought, and when he gets back from Myrtle, I think I'm going to take Spag up on his offers to play tennis. I guess I could play more Rock Band, but it's a lot more fun when used as a social event. I've also been trying to do some more writing, which is nice, but can be frustrating. And of course, frustration leads to boredom leads to snacking.
You guys got any other ideas on how to fill up time? I can only play through Dead Rising 2 so many times...well, probably. I haven't gotten to whatever that number is yet, but still, there's probably a limit.

Week 11 Update - Gargantuar
Weekly Goals Update - Burn 500+ Calories 6 days / No Alcohol!
So with taking Wednesday off, I have burned 500+ Calories 2 out of 3 days. I am feeling much better today so I think I'll be able to hit the 500 Calorie mark again. I haven't been drinking any alcohol at all, but we all know the weekends are the biggest problem there. I do have some tentative weekend plans that involve going out, but I can always not drink and have a good time. I'm naturally drunk anyways.
Going Forward
I think going forward I might try to stick to a three days on one day off program as far as cardio goes. Although it will likely depend on the weather and my work schedule. I'm really trying to buckle down these last two weeks before the weigh-in. It stinks to lose and even more so because there are some awesome prizes on the line. I hope everyone can come out to the April 2nd Weigh-in/Battle Marshal Eddie's Birthday Party. It's an afternoon grill out and beer fest. Should be good times.

Month 2 Weigh-in Week Goals - Gargantuar
Last Week's Goal - Asleep by 1130pm Mon-Thurs
Well I was very proud of myself for accomplishing this goal. I felt better most of the week and went walking every day at work as well. I did have some let downs last week. I only went to the gym once, and I had some bingey eating days. I know it's going to happen sometimes but it feels like it was just me being lazy and that's not a good feeling.
Month 2 Weigh-in Week Diet Goal - Stay at 1500 calories or less Mon-Friday
Saturday is the big weigh-in. Along with that comes a party at my competitor's house with Margaritas, chips and salsa, and maye some tacos or fajitas. I imagine I will be over 1500 calories that day. But I really want to make up some ground I think I lost last week. I have a good plan to stick under my goal. Most days are actually pretty easy to stay under 1500, if you aren't out drinking or out to dinner. So that's my plan. No drinking or going out to dinner till Saturday. Pretty straight forward and hopefully, will get me all caught up.
Month 2 Weigh-in Week Exercise Goal - Gym, Gym, Gym...tennis?
They say plagarism is the best form of flattery, so thanks Joe. Yes "gym, gym, gym" means my goal is to get to the gym three times this week. Also, my roommate and I are just dying for a nice weather day to play some tennis. It's such a good way to get exercise and have some fun. If it's not raining and the temp is close to 50, I think I will pester Colin to play tennis with me as much as possible.
So that's it. That is the game plan to try to win month two. Honestly, I don't have to win month two to feel good about myself and where I'm at. I know I'm not going to see a 20lb weight loss month again. But as long as the numbers continue to go downward, and I keep feeling better, I'll be happy......Who am I kidding, I'm too competitive for that mindframe. Bring on the Capitals vs Blackhawks tickets!!! And if you help Joey fatten up, I'll bring you with me ;)
